On 12th February 2025, our school had the distinct pleasure of warmly welcoming the Poland Folk Art Team, a vibrant group that brought with them a rich cultural heritage. The visit was a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange, and it was a day filled with laughter, learning, and mutual respect. Our students and teachers eagerly interacted with the team, sharing the beauty of Sri Lankan traditions while learning about the folk arts of Poland.

The Polish team was treated to a captivating session where they were introduced to the unique rhythms and movements of Sri Lankan traditional dancing. In turn, they shared their traditional Polish dances, and our students were fascinated by the graceful and energetic performances. It was a beautiful fusion of two distinct cultures, as both groups celebrated the universal language of music and dance. In addition to the dance performances, the Poland Folk Art Team had the chance to indulge in a variety of traditional Sri Lankan foods. They were delighted to taste authentic local dishes such as milk rice, oil cakes, and other delicacies that are central to our culinary heritage. To make their experience even more memorable, we specially prepared "Belimal," a refreshing herbal drink known for its health benefits, to share the essence of our hospitality.

As a token of appreciation and to commemorate the cultural exchange, we presented the team with a handmade flag that represented Sri Lanka’s unique art and heritage. This meaningful gift symbolized the strong cultural ties that had been formed between our school and Poland. The event was a great success, fostering friendships and enhancing our understanding of different cultures. We look forward to many more such enriching exchanges in the future.
